... drum roll.... 🧩 June Book Club...
✨ No Bad Parts by Richard Schwartz ✨

📚 JUNE BOOK CLUB ANNOUNCEMENT 📚
After wrapping up Tired As F*ck (and several months of reading our way through some big anti-diet, self compassion, body image, eating disorder, and mental health topics together), I'm excited to announce our next—and final before a summer break—book club pick:
✨ No Bad Parts by Richard Schwartz ✨
You've probably heard people talking about:
👉 "Parts work"
👉 Internal Family Systems (IFS)
👉 Inner critics
👉 Protective parts
👉 Healing wounded parts
This book is considered the foundational introduction to IFS and explores the idea that we all have different "parts" of ourselves:
Parts that protect us
Parts that carry pain
Parts that criticize
Parts that people-please
Parts that strive and achieve
Parts that avoid
Parts that numb
... And many more
Rather than trying to get rid of these parts, Schwartz invites us to understand them with curiosity and compassion.
Whether you're a therapist, healthcare provider, someone on your own healing journey, or simply curious about why you do the things you do, I'm excited to dig into this one together.
It's a smaller book so we are going to read it over 4-5 weeks togehter!

☀️ WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THIS?
I'm planning to take a little summer hiatus from book club and lean into:
☀️ Sunshine
📚 Fiction
🌱 Rest
🏖️ Play
We'll revisit what comes next in the fall, returning to anti-diet, fat liberation, body acceptance, eating disorder recovery, and related non-fiction reads. If you have any books you'd love to dig into with this book club, let me know!
In the meantime, if/as I continue reading non-fiction here and there over the summer, I'll still share book reviews, recommendations, and thoughts along the way.
📖💭
I'm so excited for No Bad Parts, lets do this!
📚 Book acquisition disclaimer:
I fully support borrowing from the library, buying used, sharing with friends, or supporting your local independent bookstore whenever possible. Amazon's impact on small businesses, workers, and communities is... not aligned with my values.
That said, I also recognize that Amazon is often the cheapest, fastest, or most accessible option for many people.
If you do choose to purchase through the affiliate links in this post, I receive a small commission at no additional cost to you. So, while Amazon still gets some of the money (boo), a tiny portion also comes back to support the time and energy that goes into running this book club (yay) ❤️
