Supporting Eating Disorders & Body Image Concerns

Summer can be a uniquely challenging season for both clients and clinicians working in the eating disorder and body image field. Increased exposure to social events such as weddings, graduations, vacations, and family gatherings often brings heightened focus on appearance, body image, food, and movement.

At the same time, seasonal diet culture messaging tends to intensify—particularly with ongoing conversations around weight loss medications, GLP-1 agonists (such as Ozempic), and “summer body” narratives. For many clients, this can lead to an increase in distress, symptom escalation, or heightened preoccupation with food and body.

For clinicians, this season often brings more complex conversations, ethical nuance, and emotional labour in supporting clients through these pressures.

About the Summer Supervision Series

This summer, I’m offering a virtual small-group clinical supervision series designed specifically for clinicians working with clients experiencing:

  • Disordered eating

  • Eating disorders

  • Body image concerns

These groups are intended to provide a supportive, collaborative space for consultation, reflection, and skill-building.

Each 75-minute session includes case consultation, discussion, and practical clinical support within a small group format (typically 3–8 clinicians per group).
