Welcome to my little book club corner—a place to read, reflect, and share thoughts with friends (or future friends) along the way.

A little bit about me/about reading:

I’ve always been a reader. Some of my earliest memories are of curling up with books and disappearing into other worlds—wandering through Narnia, chasing Irish magic in the Faerie Chronicles, rolling around inside a Giant Peach, or daydreaming my way through Green Gables. Later came Hogwarts and Middle Earth, which felt like whole universes I could step into whenever I wanted.

I was the kid who sometimes walked to work while reading, and I still always have at least one (okay, usually three) books in my backpack, ranging from fantasy to classics, to autobiographies and random novels friends have recommended.

I loved—and still love—it all: the characters, the stories, the way books could make me feel everything from wonder to heartbreak to delight. Reading was never just entertainment; it was and is an adventure I can take anytime.

As I got older, fiction started to share space with science, research, and clinical learning. These days, my nightstand usually holds a small stack: one or two fiction books for story and imagination, plus two or three nonfiction or clinical books for curiosity and growth.

Both matter to me, in different ways.

But here’s the thing: no matter what I’m reading, the real magic happens in conversation. Talking about what resonated, what didn’t, what made you pause or feel or rethink—that’s where books really come alive. For me, it feels just as essential to learning and growth as it does to art and storytelling.

And that’s what inspired this little blog book club project: a way to bring together reading, reflection, and community.

Fall 2025 Pick 🎉

By overwhelmingly popular vote, our fall read is:

Fierce Self-Compassion by Dr. Kristin Neff

📌 Note: Right now it’s only available in hardcover (paperback coming April 2026).

How to Join In - Find a copy of the book!

It doesn’t matter if you:

  • read a physical copy

  • listen to the audiobook

  • or do a mix of both 🎧📖

👉 Pro tip: Invite a friend or two to read with you. That way, as I share my thoughts, feelings, and questions to ponder, you’ll have someone to chat with too. (Snacks and drinks encouraged 🍵🍫).

Soon I will post a suggested weekly pace for reading & publish a weekly blog post/maybe make some noise on instagram and hopefully encourage some ongoing discussion. If you can, try to get a copy of the book in your hands/ears by the first day of fall - Sunday Sept21!

Bonus for Clients

If you’re one of my in person/local clients, I’ve added 2 copies to the office Library. Feel free to borrow one next time you're in!
